Jamaica Hospital Earns Recognition As Only Queens Hospital On Top Performers List

December 16, 2014 (Jamaica, NY)-Jamaica Hospital Medical Center has been rated as one of New York City‰Ûªs top performing hospitals by The Joint Commission-which is the nation‰Ûªs oldest and leading authority in patient care standards. The hospital has also been recognized to be the only hospital in Queens to appear on the list of Top Performers on Key Quality Measures program. Jamaica Hospital earned recognition for its quality of care in treating patients with heart attacks, pneumonia, surgical care and heart failure.

According to The Joint Commission each of the top performers must, ‰ÛÏ1) achieve cumulative performance of 95 percent or above across all reported accountability measures; 2) achieve performance of 95 percent or above on each and every reported accountability measure where there are at least 30 denominator cases; and 3) have at least one core measure set that has a composite rate of 95 percent or above, and(within that measure set) all applicable individual accountability measures have a performance rate of 95 percent or above. ‰ÛÏ
