Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is proud to announce that it is the recipient of the American College of CardiologyÛªs NCDR ACTION RegistryÛÒGWTG Silver Performance Achievement Award for 2017. Jamaica Hospital was one of only three hospitals in New York City, and the only hospital in Queens to earn this achievement.
The award recognizes Jamaica Hospital Medical Center Ûªs commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of care for heart attack patients and signifies that the hospital has reached an aggressive goal of treating these patients to standard levels of care as outlined by the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association clinical guidelines and recommendations.
To receive the ACTION RegistryÛÒGWTG Silver Performance Achievement Award, Jamaica Hospital Medical consistently followed the treatment guidelines in the ACTION RegistryÛÒGWTG for four consecutive quarters and met a performance standard of 90 percent for specific performance measures. Full participation in the registry engages hospitals in a robust quality improvement process using data to drive improvements in adherence to guideline recommendations and overall quality of care provided to heart attack patients.
In addition to earning the GWTG Silver Performance Award, Jamaica HospitalÛªs Cardiology Department received the American Heart AssociationÛªs 2017; Get with the Guidelines Heart Failure Bronze Award. The award was given to the hospital in recognition of its commitment to treating heart failure patients with 85% or higher compliance to core standard levels of care, as outlined by the American Heart Association for 90 consecutive days.
