New Ophthalmology Center Opens at Jamaica Hospital

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is excited to announce the opening of a state of the art, comprehensive

Ophthalmology Center, the latest addition to TJH the multi-specialty physician group affiliated with the

hospital. The new center will be located in the Axel Building on the Jamaica Hospital campus.

The Ophthalmology Center is 3,500 square feet and houses facilities for private examinations and

specialty medical and diagnostic procedures including a surgical room for outpatient surgery. The

Center features the latest generation equipment and lasers, as well as ophthalmic ultrasound, corneal

topography and ophthalmic computerized topography, providing earlier and improved diagnosis of and the

advantages of early treatment for ocular disorders.

Board Certified and fellowship-trained ophthalmologists will provide the full range of adult and pediatric

ophthalmic care from annual eye exams to the prevention and treatment of diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, and


The Center is expected to treat between 20,000 and 25,000 patients a year, providing the community

with access to the largest and most highly trained ophthalmic specialists in the area. ‰ÛÏWe are thrilled to open
