To gain a place on the list is no easy task as candidates have to endure a rigorous, multi-step process to be selected.\u00a0 Some of the characteristics that gain physicians this recognition are: professional activities, academic achievements, hospital appointment and prior honors. After a thorough blue-ribbon panel review only 2.5 percent of physicians in each state are selected.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Nicolas Biro recently joined the Jamaica Hospital family and is fellowship trained in oculoplastics and neuro-ophthalmology.\u00a0\u00a0 Dr. Jonathan Kruh, a graduate of our ophthalmology program is a core member of our faculty and clinical director.
