{"id":2629,"date":"2016-06-24T19:05:49","date_gmt":"2016-06-24T19:05:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/medisyshealth.org\/newsletter\/?p=2629"},"modified":"2016-06-24T19:19:16","modified_gmt":"2016-06-24T19:19:16","slug":"dr-sabiha-raoof-featured-in-special-edition-of-acr-magazine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/medisyshealth.org\/newsletter\/dr-sabiha-raoof-featured-in-special-edition-of-acr-magazine\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr. Sabiha Raoof Featured in Special Edition of ACR Magazine"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb_share_1\" style=\"float: right; margin-left: 10px;\"><a name=\"fb_share\" type=\"box_count\" share_url=\"https:\/\/medisyshealth.org\/newsletter\/dr-sabiha-raoof-featured-in-special-edition-of-acr-magazine\/\" href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/sharer.php\">Share<\/a><\/div><div><script src=\"http:\/\/static.ak.fbcdn.net\/connect.php\/js\/FB.Share\" type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script><\/div><div id=\"attachment_2630\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2630\" class=\"wp-image-2630 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/medisyshealth.org\/newsletter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Dr-Raoof-during-MAD-rounds-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"Dr Raoof during MAD rounds\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-2630\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dr. Raoof visiting patients during MAD Rounds with administrator James Villavicencio.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Dr. Sabiha Raoof; Chairwoman of Radiology for Jamaica and Flushing Hospital Medical Center was featured in last month\u2019s edition of\u00a0 the American College of Radiation\u2019s\u00a0 publication, the ACR\u00a0 Bulletin.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Raoof was interviewed for an extended article titled \u201cA Combined Approach\u201d, which highlighted radiologists who are \u2018working with their colleagues to improve the patient experience through initiatives big and small.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The article delved into the importance of optimizing the patient experience, by simply finding out what patients want.\u00a0 Methods used to obtain this type of information typically include extracting opinions and data from electronic surveys.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Raoof was recognized for her unique approach to finding out what patients want by meeting with them directly.\u00a0 She initiated the MAD (Making a Difference) Rounds project at Jamaica Hospital, which was created along with the help of hospital leaders to ensure that patients receive the best quality care during their stay. \u00a0\u00a0The project, later adopted at Flushing Hospital, involves the participation of nearly 100 clinicians and administrators who make rounds each day, asking patients how they are feeling and if they need anything. \u201cThe MAD team\u2019s goal is to solve any issues a patient has immediately,\u201dDr. Raoof explained. \u00a0She went on to say \u201cWe want patients to feel empowered to ask questions and tell us how we can make their health care experience better.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jamaica and Flushing Hospital Medical Center are taking steps to becoming \u201cHigh-Reliability Hospitals.\u201d The MAD program is one of several initiatives that have been created to increase patient satisfaction.\u00a0 Hospital leaders and staff are continuously exploring ways to make time spent at both campuses a positive experience for all.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ShareDr. Sabiha Raoof; Chairwoman of Radiology for Jamaica and Flushing Hospital Medical Center was featured in last month\u2019s edition of\u00a0 the American College of Radiation\u2019s\u00a0 publication, the ACR\u00a0 Bulletin.
