{"id":2908,"date":"2017-02-17T16:53:18","date_gmt":"2017-02-17T16:53:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/medisyshealth.org\/newsletter\/?p=2908"},"modified":"2017-02-17T17:10:41","modified_gmt":"2017-02-17T17:10:41","slug":"dream-believers-team-exceeded-their-goal-earns-spot-as-the-number-one-fundraising-team-in-queens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/medisyshealth.org\/newsletter\/dream-believers-team-exceeded-their-goal-earns-spot-as-the-number-one-fundraising-team-in-queens\/","title":{"rendered":"Dream Believers Team Exceeded Their Goal, Earns Spot as the Number One Fundraising Team in Queens"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb_share_1\" style=\"float: right; margin-left: 10px;\"><a name=\"fb_share\" type=\"box_count\" share_url=\"https:\/\/medisyshealth.org\/newsletter\/dream-believers-team-exceeded-their-goal-earns-spot-as-the-number-one-fundraising-team-in-queens\/\" href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/sharer.php\">Share<\/a><\/div><div><script src=\"http:\/\/static.ak.fbcdn.net\/connect.php\/js\/FB.Share\" type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script><\/div><p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-2910\" src=\"http:\/\/medisyshealth.org\/newsletter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/medisys-dream-believers-300x198.jpg\" alt=\"medisys dream believers\" width=\"327\" height=\"220\" \/>Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in women who live in the MediSys Health Network\u2019s service area.\u00a0 In an effort to reduce the number of fatalities and lessen the negative impact the disease has on our communities, our network proudly supports the American Cancer Society\u2019s, \u201cMaking Strides Against Breast Cancer\u201d initiative to provide breast health services and information to women.<\/p>\n<p>Each year, \u00a0the MediSys Health Network\u2019s, \u201cDream Believers Team,\u201d consisting of Flushing and Jamaica Hospital Medical Center staff coordinates events to educate the community and raise funds to help the American Cancer Society fight the disease.\u00a0 In addition to fundraising and educational efforts, team members further demonstrate advocacy by participating in the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk.<\/p>\n<p>Over the years, the team\u2019s dedication to raising funds to fight breast cancer has been recognized by the American Cancer Society but special recognition was given several weeks ago when the MediSys Dream Believers was named a Pacesetter Team and the number one fundraising team in Queens.
