Its vibrant colors and fantastic design beckoned many employees and visitors to sit and play.<\/p>\n<p>Clinical Nurse Manager, Cheryl Gallotta Dimassi, coordinated the Sing for Hope initiative at Jamaica Hospital.\u00a0 She explained to reporters from the Queens Chronicle and NY1 news that receiving the piano was important as it served as an extension of the hospital\u2019s efforts to provide our community with outlets that promote healing through art. \u201cI\u2019ve been working to get this for a year,\u201d she said. \u201cMusic, in the right tone, the right level, is therapeutic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We thank everyone who played the piano and supported our efforts to provide therapeutic music for all to enjoy.\u00a0 It was certainly a great treat to experience the talents of our fellow coworkers and members of the community.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"NY1 9pm 2018 06 11 Piano of Hope\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/cKrqfG_9qeg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ShareThis summer, Jamaica Hospital Medical Center was the only hospital in our region to receive a highly coveted Sing for Hope piano.
