{"id":4097,"date":"2018-11-30T19:34:14","date_gmt":"2018-11-30T19:34:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/medisyshealth.org\/newsletter\/?p=4097"},"modified":"2018-11-30T20:32:20","modified_gmt":"2018-11-30T20:32:20","slug":"jamaica-hospital-sends-birthday-wishes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/medisyshealth.org\/newsletter\/jamaica-hospital-sends-birthday-wishes\/","title":{"rendered":"Jamaica Hospital Sends Birthday Wishes"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb_share_1\" style=\"float: right; margin-left: 10px;\"><a name=\"fb_share\" type=\"box_count\" share_url=\"https:\/\/medisyshealth.org\/newsletter\/jamaica-hospital-sends-birthday-wishes\/\" href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/sharer.php\">Share<\/a><\/div><div><script src=\"http:\/\/static.ak.fbcdn.net\/connect.php\/js\/FB.Share\" type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script><\/div><p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-4098\" src=\"http:\/\/medisyshealth.org\/newsletter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Central-Transport-Services.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"291\" height=\"220\" \/>A characteristic that has become synonymous with Jamaica Hospital\u2019s high level of service is our ability to promote a strong sense of community among our staff and patients.<\/p>\n<p>Over the years, several initiatives have been implemented to ensure patient satisfaction and foster positive experiences.\u00a0 One that continuously receives excellent feedback from our patients is the Happy Birthday Telegram program.<\/p>\n<p>In 2016, Jamaica Hospital\u2019s Central Transport Services division began the program as an effort to\u00a0help patients admitted to\u00a0our hospital feel special on their birthdays. \u201cBeing in a hospital during your birthday isn\u2019t the most ideal situation, so we try to bring some light to the day,\u201d explained Arleen Reinoso, Director of Central Transport.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe patient experience is very important to our team; we believe that happiness and genuine acts of kindness help with the healing process, \u201cshared Reinoso. \u00a0To cheer up patients on their special day, Central Transport delivers a personalized birthday card, along with a puzzle and a small gift. \u00a0The team also surprises patients by gathering together to sing the Happy Birthday song. \u201cIt is special to see the patients\u2019 reaction when we sing to them; it\u2019s even more amazing for me to see the staff so engaged and happy to do this for the patients. We even include the clinical staff on the unit in the celebration so the patient feels extra special,\u201d said Reinoso.<\/p>\n<p>Successfully running the program has been a collaborative effort between, Central Transport Services, the Epic Patient Access Team, and all clinical staff who join in during the celebrations.<\/p>\n<p>A satisfied patient is our hospital\u2019s greatest reward. \u00a0We thank everyone who participates in the Happy Birthday Telegram program and other initiatives created to improve patient satisfaction.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ShareA characteristic that has become synonymous with Jamaica Hospital\u2019s high level of service is our ability to promote a strong sense of community among our staff and patients.
