{"id":5108,"date":"2020-08-19T21:24:41","date_gmt":"2020-08-19T21:24:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/medisyshealth.org\/newsletter\/?p=5108"},"modified":"2020-08-19T21:25:46","modified_gmt":"2020-08-19T21:25:46","slug":"murals-celebrating-hospital-superheroes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/medisyshealth.org\/newsletter\/murals-celebrating-hospital-superheroes\/","title":{"rendered":"Murals Celebrate Jamaica and Flushing Hospital&#8217;s Superheroes"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb_share_1\" style=\"float: right; margin-left: 10px;\"><a name=\"fb_share\" type=\"box_count\" share_url=\"https:\/\/medisyshealth.org\/newsletter\/murals-celebrating-hospital-superheroes\/\" href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/sharer.php\">Share<\/a><\/div><div><script src=\"http:\/\/static.ak.fbcdn.net\/connect.php\/js\/FB.Share\" type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script><\/div><p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-5110 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/medisyshealth.org\/newsletter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/DSC_0465-mural.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"324\" height=\"199\" \/>Displayed on a wall in Flushing Hospital\u2019s ER and Jamaica Hospital\u2019s main lobby are murals that pay tribute to healthcare workers.<\/p>\n<p>The large, 4\u2019x8\u2019 paintings were sponsored by Maspeth Federal Savings and created by several artists from the non-profit organization Splashes of Hope to thank our hospital frontline workers for their sacrifice in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Painted in vibrant colors, each piece beckons visitors to stop and admire artistic portrayals of frontliners as superheroes.<\/p>\n<p>The murals which took two months to complete also features the words \u201cThank You\u201d in 13 different languages, a rainbow to symbolize unity, and a cardinal to honor the lives lost to the pandemic.\u00a0 In the background stands the Queens Unisphere, one of the most iconic and beloved structures in our borough.<\/p>\n<p>The MediSys Health Network is incredibly grateful to have received these beautiful murals. We thank Maspeth Federal Savings and Splashes of Hope for honoring our staff and celebrating their courage.<\/p>\n<p>As our community moves forward, the murals will serve as a reminder of one of the most challenging times in history.
