MediSys operates New York City’s busiest Level 1 Trauma Center. Our network is ranked among the top hospitals nationwide; our hospitals’ stroke centers have received Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification from The Joint Commission (The highest designation for excellence in the care of stroke patients).
Every year, our hospitals’ Emergency Departments treat over 150,000 and our ambulatory care network treats over a quarter of a million patients. In addition, our OB/GYN departments deliver approximately over 4,000 babies and our nursing home provides short and long-term rehabilitation care to pproximately 800 patients per year.
Our Nursing Home is a CMS 5 star rated facility (2014 to present), has achieved a top or 1st quintile ranking by the New York State Nursing Home Quality Initiative (NHQI) (also 2014 to present), US News World Report Best Short- and Long-Term Skilled Nursing Facility and Newsweek Magazine Best Nursing Home.
The MediSys Health Network has nearly 7,000 employees as part of our team and 700 exceptional doctors in our network, all are committed to delivering much-needed care to a largely underserved community that faces many healthcare barriers.
Our organization aims to address health disparities that exist in our communities by creating initiatives that will increase access to equitable healthcare. This includes our recent partnership with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center through which we now provide care to patients, who would otherwise need to travel outside the borough to receive their care.
The MediSys Health Network is dedicated to transforming lives through inclusive healthcare. Our goal is to continue our important work in providing the health services to the communities we serve.
