At MediSys Health Network, we’re on a mission to eradicate health disparities, ensuring our community members, regardless of race, ethnicity, or financial circumstance, receive top-tier care. With a commitment to serving over 800,000 individuals in Queens and Brooklyn, we stand as a cornerstone of health and hope in 37 zip codes across these communities.

Our Legacy

Our Legacy: MediSys Health Network comprises Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, established 133 years ago in 1891, and Flushing Hospital Medical Center, serving the community since 1884. Together, they form an integrated healthcare system that provides a comprehensive spectrum of services, from general medical care to specialized treatments in urology, neurology, orthopedics, and more.

Healthy Equity in Action

Health Equity in Action: MediSys is not just a provider; we are champions of health equity, recognized by the Lown Institute for our dedication to social responsibility. Our commitment to addressing health disparities extends to a number of grant-funded initiatives in the community, including a program combating Anti-Asian racism.

Empowering Communities

Empowering Communities: Our workforce mirrors the racial, ethnic, and linguistic diversity of the neighborhoods we serve, with over 51% multilingual staff speaking 73 languages. This inclusivity enables us to provide culturally competent care, ensuring every individual feels understood and valued.

Addressing Urgent Needs

Addressing Urgent Needs: In a landscape where 20 hospitals have closed in the last 25 years, particularly in low-income and minority neighborhoods, our presence is crucial. The absence of healthcare institutions in six city districts poses a significant risk of widening health disparities. We are devoted to bridging this gap, offering millions of dollars in free care annually to those without insurance or means to pay.

Excellence in Care

Excellence in Care
Jamaica Hospital and Flushing Hospital have earned accolades from Healthgrades and US News and World Report, standing among the top hospitals nationwide for clinical performance, surgical care, stroke, heart failure, COPD, and diabetes care. As the busiest Level 1 Trauma Center in NYC and the only Joint Commission-accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center in Queens, we are committed to delivering top-notch care to our diverse communities.

Future of MediSys

Future of Medisys: For over a century, we have been proud to serve the Queens community with high-quality and patient-centered health care. Looking ahead, we remain committed to our mission of meeting the unique needs of our diverse and growing population through innovation and expansion of our services and facilities. To make our vision a reality, we need your support and hope that you can join us in building a better tomorrow.

Join Our Cause

Join Our Cause: Your support fuels our ability to continue this vital mission. Your donation directly impacts lives, ensuring equitable access to high-quality healthcare for all. Together, let’s build healthier, more resilient communities in Queens and Brooklyn where every individual’s well-being matters.

Here, our multi-disciplinary team treats a wide variety of patients for the most critical injuries. Many of our trauma patients are victims of crime, including gun violence. Our trauma team not only treats these victims, but we work in the community to help put an end to gun violence through various program and partnerships, including through the creation of our V.E.T.O. (Violence Elimination and Trauma Outreach) program.

Stroke

Nearly 800,000 Americans suffer a stroke every year. Understanding the communities we serve, the MediSys Health Network is dedicated to stroke prevention, treatment, and recovery. Our efforts have been recognized by the Joint Commission, who have awarded Flushing Hospital with Primary Stroke certification and Jamaica Hospital a Comprehensive Stroke Center accreditation, which is the highest achievable designation given to a hospital.

Wellness Medicine

Integrative health is a progressive approach to healthcare delivery. It involves a patient centered approach that combines conventional healing practices with complementary therapies. The MediSys Health Network is opening a Wellness Center, which will also include an exercise gym, green grocery, rooftop garden and nutrition center to improve the overall health and wellness of our community.

Women’s Health

Improving maternal health in our community is a high priority for the MediSys Health Network. On our Flushing Hospital campus, we recently completed a complete renovation and modernization of our inpatient and outpatient services. At Jamaica Hospital, our innovative CenteringPregnancy program offers a unique group prenatal care dynamic for our patients. Lastly, both hospitals have earned a Baby-Friendly USA designation, which demonstrates our commitment to breastfeeding and its many advantages.
